A Quite Unbelievable Morning

I've just had one of those quite unbelievable mornings.  You know the ones.  It started last night at 9.45pm when I thought I had everything ready for the next day and then discovered a machine full of washing that had to go out on the radiators otherwise we'd all be smelling like damp dog.  I hate washing by the way.  From having to put it into the machine, to getting it out of the machine and don't get me started on the putting it all in little piles for everyone and then in their respective drawers.  So, anyway.  I get to bed at a reasonable time, 10.15pm and fall asleep quickly.  This is good, I am envisaging waking up feeling fairly refreshed and ready for the day.  Lovely.

I've got children!  THINK AGAIN.  A lovely wake up call from my 2 year old at 5AM!!!  This is not normal for my kids, they go past 7am most mornings.  The youngest has started having accidents again and has had one again this morning.

I strip his bed and put him in our bed and my husband goes to work.  I think, yes, he will go back to sleep and I can get another hour at least.  THINK AGAIN.  When you've gone past a certain time of the night, you can forget about children going back to sleep again.  No matter how much you will them to sleep for another hour or so, it's not going to happen.  We lay there for a bit, me wondering if I'll ever feel not tired again and him saying, "I want to go downstairs mummy".  I can't bear the thought of the brightness of the children's tv but down we go.

I won't let this beat me I think.  I'll do a little workout to wake myself up!  Yes!  I can do this at 6.45am.  So I start my little session and 5 mins in, child number 1 comes downstairs crying as I wasn't in my bed when he came in.  I love a little cry in the morning to set me up for the day don't you?  Forget the workout, get the children's breakfasts.  One day, I'll manage this.

So, just one of those mornings really.  How was yours today?  Feel free to tell me!  I love to hear more stories of mums mornings, you just couldn't make them up!  I'm off now to pick the banana bread and butter off the couch.  Have a lovely day.
