FitMum is a post natal session that you can attend once you’ve had your 8 week check (10-12 wks for c section). We focus on getting you back into exercise, safely and effectively, with a specific focus on your Core muscles and Pelvic Floor. When you are ready, exercising following birth will help you to get healthy and fit again.
Babies are very welcome at these sessions; we have a resident babysitter, Pauline, who helps with the babies in the 'softzone' area. Most ladies do bring their babies to FitMum, but you don't have to.
Exercising can improve your mood and help you to sleep better (although I can’t guarantee this for the babies too!) and can help you to manage post natal depression.
My nutrition plans are there to support weight loss but also give you the essential fats, vitamins, minerals and protein that you need to support your health. We never count calories, this is just clean, healthy eating that will leave you feeling great.
Stomach Separation (Diastasis Recti)
I offer a stomach check to all mums joining the FitMum Club to check for any stomach separation. As someone who has had this condition, I know what it takes to improve and manage any separation. It is very much a collaboration between exercise, nutrition, sleep and reducing stress and I will help you tackle any issues. There are many stomach exercises which you should definitely NOT do when you have separation and everything we do at FitMum is safe for this condition . A huge part of FitMum is the social interaction and adult conversation! Many FitMums make friends and see each other outside of the sessions and it can be a great way to meet other new mums, especially if you are feeling a bit lonely and want some support .
New Mum At Home Service
I offer a one off service where I come to your home after the birth of your baby. If you are ready to start exercising again, or just want the best advice on what to eat for optimum health following the birth to support you in your new job of being a mum, contact me. The New Mum At Home Service includes:
- Separation check
- Food diary discussion
- Nutrition plan appropriate to you
- Exercise plan appropriate to you
I will visit you in your home to fit around baby feeding and sleep times.
